Additional improvements would make it an even better app. So, yes, in my onion it is the best recipe database that I have run across. I have requested that several times but, no response. It would be nice to have the option to keep certain categories open or closed and have them stay that way. You can close the categories you are not interested in to shorten the length of the list but when the program starts up again, all categories will be open again. Also, if you develop a long list of categories with subcategories an sub-sub categories, the list in the sidebar can get very long. There are a few other search refinements that would definitely improve the search function. being able do search the database for recipes that do not include an ingredient. Paprika could use a few improvements in teaching, e.g. I must say the developers used to be very responsive to suggestions and problems, not so lately. MacGourmet 2.1 also adds a great new feature: a service to quickly import from a variety of recipe web sites in just one step. You can access it in the Help menu, or by using the command- menu item. Several times I have messed up additions to recipe because the Mac was 1/2X and the iPad 1X. And speaking of help, MacGourmet 2.1 adds Help in Apple's standard format, making it easier to find information on using the product. Sorry, but if I'm on my Mac, scale a recipe for 1/2X, I want to see it on my iPad as 1/2X as well. It used to do that but stopped allowing that and try and call it a feature. Moving forward, this will be a much more effective way of importing recipes from recipe sites. Recipes are synced between devices but the scaling of a recipe is not synced. In a nutshell, MacGourmet and MacGourmet Deluxe are now parsing the data from recipe web sites within the application opposed to using the third party software as it did before. I do have a little problem with the developers right now. For example they cant be easily edited, searched or shared. Cookbooks are kind of old-fashioned and have a number of disadvantages. AnyList can import recipes from thousands of popular recipe websites and blogs like Allrecipes, Epicurious, Martha Stewart, NYT Cooking, and more. Also includes data meta-tags for easier searching and indexing of recipes from the main window. It imports recipes from the web easily and creates the recipe from the site perfectly 99% of the time. This is a small and easy to use kitchen recipe organiser and database for anyone wanting to start as an aspiring chef. So it is a real everyday workhorse in my home. I use the iPhone out by the grill or in the grocery store. I use the iPad next to the stove when cooking. I use the Mac to do detailed work and most of my importing and editing. I use it everyday and have it on my iPhone, iPad and Mac. I have been using Paprika since it was released.
